Tips from Queen of Hip Hop: Beyoncé
As we bid adieu to 2018 – a year filled with iconic style from the 1980s fashion, grunge style, royal Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle styles, the renaissance of animal prints, autumn checkered and houndstooth trends – it’s a wrap as we look forward towards Spring 2019.
Here’s a sneak peek of the top trends that you should be looking forward to for your new year wardrobe inspo to spring into style.
Trend 1: See-Through Fancy Flats
To know whether a trend is to stay or not, look to the Queen of Hip-Hop, Beyoncé for cues who join a string of celebrities from Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian to embraced the clear-shoe trend.

Combine that with the upcoming fancy flat trend, we definitely have a clear winner here. When fashion bigwigs like Valentino started incorporating this trend and gave it a fancy twist, we knew that flats will no doubt be a mainstay in our 2019 wardrobe.

What to wear: While you might want to go all out in the name of fashion, you may want to tone it down for an appropriate work outfit. Score style points and still channel a bit of Simone Rocha in your work get-up with a pair of Cinderella-esque glitter clear flats.
Pro-dressing Tip: Pick an LBD and level up with a touch of femininity in its lace details. Accessorise with a pair of earrings to amp up the glamour, and you’re good to go. Don’t be surprised if your girl boss wants to cop your look!

2019 will see us going back to neutrals. With a colour base that works for all skin tones and any outfit pairing, the flexibility to dress up or dress down is entirely up to you. With brands like Burberry, Kenzo, Tibi and more sporting the classic colour on the catwalks, the colour of the season is starkly clear - to be beiger.

What to wear: For a look fresh off the runways, be clad in beige from head to toe for a sleek OOTD that also gives an illusion of endless legs.
Pro-dressing Tip: Go for an all-beige cotton blend blazer and bottom set, and layer with a thin taupe long sleeve top to soften the overall look. For the bold, take a leaf out of Tibi’s book and simply go with a blazer as your top. Complete the look with a glam pair of slides without looking overly casual – for that effortless, put-together chic look to breeze through in the office.
Trend 3: Sequins
Who doesn’t like a bit of shine? Or in this case, perhaps a whole lot more. The sequins craze has always been on trend and its here to stay for Spring/ Summer 19. Make a fashion statement loud and proud in conspicuous sequins, as seen on the runway shows of House of Holland, Halpern and many others.
